More About The Producer

Domaine Bouchard is one of the oldest estates in Burgundy with its origins tracing back to 1731 and is the largest landholder in Burgundy. They are respected as one of the top producers in the region with exceptional quality ranging from a diverse array of vineyards. The estate has 12ha of Grand Cru vineyards and 74ha of Premier Cru vineyards which allows them to produce some of the best quality Burgundy at value prices. At the end of 2022, French Luxury good Billionare Francois Pinault bought Domaine Bouchard - he also owns Chateau Latour, Clos de Tart and other prestigious wineries. One of the first significant decisions he made was to stop producing négociant wines at Domaine Bouchard which meant they refocused on crafting wines exclusivey from vineyards they own. The World of Wine expects the quality at Domaine Bouchard to increase and production to drop rapidly. Among our top recommendations are the Chevalier Montrachet La Cabotte and Chevalier Montrachet, they are some of our favourite wines that will rival other great producers who are charging significantly more for their cuvees.
