Giant Steps
Awarded Australian Winery of the Year by Halliday's Wine Companion in 2024. Founded in 1997 by Phil Sexton, a visionary in the Australian wine and brewing industries, Giant Steps was born from a desire to create wines that reflect the unique character of the Yarra Valley. Sexton, who previously co-founded Matilda Bay Brewing Company and Devils Lair Winery, identified the potential of the region’s cool climate and diverse soils for producing world-class wines.
Giant Steps quickly gained a reputation for its innovative approach, focusing on single-vineyard wines that showcase the distinct terroir of the Yarra Valley. In 2020, the winery was acquired by Jackson Family Wines, a move that has ensured its continued focus on quality and global distribution while retaining its original ethos. The Jackson family are one of the most successful winemaking family's on the planet - with a knack of pairing exceptional sites with the perfect winemakers and providing near bottomless resources so the vision for the vineyard can be achieved. With this level of investment in a producer as exceptional as Giants Steps - is it any wonder they are producing some of the best wines in Australia? Our favourites wines from the Giant Steps range is the Applejack Pinot Noir and Sexton Chardonnay.
