Luigi Baudana is a celebrated winery nestled in Serralunga d'Alba, at the heart of the Barolo region in Piedmont, Italy. Established more than three decades ago by Luigi and Fiorina Baudana, the estate spans 4.1 hectares, with 2.6 hectares dedicated to the iconic Barolo and 1.5 hectares to Langhe Bianco. The Baudana name is deeply intertwined with the region—shared by the vineyard, the hamlet, and the family—symbolizing an enduring bond to the land they cultivate.
In 2009, the Baudana family passed the baton to the Vaira family of G.D. Vajra, entrusting them with the stewardship of the estate. Under their care, the winery has stayed true to its roots, preserving a commitment to organic farming and traditional winemaking practices. The Vairas have continued to craft wines that are a true reflection of the unique terroirs of the Baudana and Cerretta crus, ensuring the legacy of the estate thrives.
The winery's portfolio is anchored by exceptional Barolo wines, including the single-vineyard bottlings ‘Baudana’ and ‘Cerretta,’ as well as the ‘Dragon’ Langhe Bianco. These wines are prized for their elegance, depth, and ability to showcase the distinctive character of their respective vineyards. The 'Baudana' Barolo, in particular, stands out for its austere yet intense profile, capturing the essence of Serralunga d'Alba with remarkable charm and complexity.
