More About The Producer

Bass Phillip is an incredible boutique winery located in South Gippsland, Victoria. Founded in 1979 by Phillip Jones, a self-taught and highly dedicated winemaker who had a singular vision: to create world-class Pinot Noir in Australia.

He modeled his approach on traditional Burgundian techniques and with time his wines have come to be regarded among the best in the country. In 2012 his flagship wine, Bass Phillip Reserve Pinot Noir 2010 was the first wine ever to be awarded 99 points by Australia’s leading critic James Halliday and it was awarded “Wine of the Year” in Halliday's Wine Companion. Subsequently, the 2012 vintage became the second Australian wine to score 99 points.
