We are proud at the World of Wine to get an allocation from Felton Road every year. Felton Road’s story began in 1991 when Stewart Elms planted the Elms Vineyard on Felton Road in Central Otago’s Bannockburn sub-region. Releasing their first commercial vintage in 1997, the winery has grown steadily over the years. Nigel Greening, the current owner, acquired Cornish Point Vineyard in 1998 and then purchased Felton Road which includes the Elms Vineyard, Clavert Vineyard and MacMuir Vineyard, in 2000. These vineyards total 34 hectares and benefit from free-draining, low-fertility soils and a unique climate that makes them ideal for producing premium quality Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Riesling. Nigel Greening’s vision for Felton Road was clear from the start: to craft wines that would reflect the unique terroir of Central Otago and set new standards for quality in New Zealand wine. Greening was drawn to Central Otago for its purity and high-altitude vineyards, which offered both a challenge and opportunity to produce wines of exceptional character. Felton Road is best known for its exceptional Pinot Noir, which has been widely regarded as one of the best in New Zealand. The wines are known for their richness, depth, and ability to age with grace. Some of the standout wines from Felton Road include: Block 3, Calvert and Cornish Point.
