More About The Producer

Domaine William Fevre is an estate with history dating back over the last 250 years but it was not until William Fevre himself became the head of the estate in 1959 that the modern powerhouse we know now was formed. The estate boasts the largest and one of the most esteemed holdings in Chablis, with over 78 hectares (193 acres) of vineyards, including 15.9 hectares in Grand Cru sites and 12.8 hectares in Premier Cru vineyards. The domaine's vineyards are scattered across some of the best terroirs in Chablis, allowing Fèvre to produce a range of wines that express the diversity of the region’s microclimates and soil types. Domaine William Fèvre has access to six of the seven Grand Cru vineyards of Chablis, including Les Clos, Bougros, Valmur, Les Preuses, Vaudésir, and Grenouilles. These sites are located on Kimmeridgian limestone soils, which are rich in marine fossils and contribute to the wines' unique mineral character. Are these the most sought after wines in Chablis? No. However they are wines that are reliable and great expressions of Chablis which fairly accessible for price and availability. The team at The World of Wine have had many fantastic experiences with Domaine William Fevre. One of our team members maintains that the expressive and unique sub-climat within the Bougros Grand Cru labelled 'Cote de Bougerots' - which is exclusively poduced by William Fevre - would be revered as the best plot in all of Chablis if Dauvissat or Raveneau had access to it. We are doing our best to hang onto the excellent vintages such as 2014 and 2017.
