More About The Producer

Dom Perignon, where history meets bubbles with a bang! Named after the legendary 17th-century Benedictine monk Dom Pierre Perignon, a monk at the Abbey of Hautvillers near epernay in the Champagne region, lived from 1638 to 1715. When it comes to legendary champagne houses, Dom Perignon stands head and shoulders above the rest, much like its namesake monk who supposedly invented champagne by exclaiming, "Come quickly, I am tasting the stars!" Whether that’s historical fact or the stuff of sparkling legend, there's no denying that Dom Perignon is a pioneer in the world of fine bubbles.

The Champagne brand Dom Perignon was officially created by Moet & Chandon in 1921, with its first vintage released to the public in 1936. Since then, Dom Perignon has been produced exclusively as a vintage Champagne, meaning it is made only in exceptional years using the best grapes from that harvest. Each bottle is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with the exact proportions varying based on the character of the year.

The Champagne is aged for a minimum of eight years on its lees before release, allowing it to develop its signature complexity and richness.Dom Perignon is more than a wine; it is a cultural icon. It has been featured in films, music, and art, becoming synonymous with luxury and grandeur. Moments of historical significance, such as the wedding of Lady Diana Spencer and Prince Charles, have been celebrated with Dom Perignon, reinforcing its place as a marker of extraordinary occasions. The World of Wine can gain access to an exceptional selection of impeccably stored, aged treasures from Dom Perignon, with vintages dating back to the early 1980s. These rare gems are seldom seen in Australia, making them a true find for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
