The 2017 Meursault villages from the Ente family is also lovely this year, and like the Bourgogne blanc, it is characterized by a bit more mid-palate amplitude in this vintage than is typical of this bottling. The nose wafts from the glass in a classic blend of apple, passion fruit, hazelnuts, iodine, chalky minerality and a nice touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is crisp, full-bodied and nicely mineral in profile, with very good concentration at the core, bright acids and a very long, nascently complex and energetic finish. This is a fine bottle in the making, but it will need at least a couple of years in the cellar to properly blossom before starting to drink with generosity

Aromas of crisp yellow orchard fruit, citrus oil, oatmeal, beeswax and fresh pastry introduce the 2017 Meursault Village, a medium to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping wine that's pure, precise and penetrating. This is actually not aromatically dissimilar to the Bourgogne Chardonnay with perhaps a bit more overall layering. By contrast there is considerably better concentration to the more mineral-inflected medium-bodied flavors that offer both good richness and vibrancy, all wrapped in a dry, clean and focused finish. This is a very fine Meursault villages and worth considering. *Outstanding
