Domaine Naturaliste
Bruce Dukes winemaking career spans several decades beginning in the Napa Valley before he returned to Australia and became the senior winemaker at Pierro for over 10 years. Bruce had a dream to have his own winery and that came true in 2012 when he founded Domaine Naturaliste. The winery's name pays tribute to Le Naturaliste, one of the French exploration ships charting the Australian coastline in the early 1800s. This historical connection reflects Bruce’s philosophy of discovery and respect for nature evident both in winemaking and sustainable practices. Bruce’s vision was to create wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Margaret River region. The winery combines modern viticultural techniques with a profound respect for the land, producing wines that emphasize balance, complexity, and a sense of place. Despite being a relative newcomer to the established region of the Margaret River, Domaine Naturaliste has quickly gained a reputation for uncompromising quality at all price levels in his range. In 2020 Domaine Naturaliste was awarded the Best Value Winery in Australia by James Halliday. We frequently drink the Artus Chardonnay and Morus Cabernet and we completely agree, the wines reflect great value.
