More About The Producer

Vieux Château Certan is renowned for crafting some of the most elegant and sophisticated wines in the Pomerol appellation.

Established in 1858, it is one of the oldest and most distinguished estates in the region. The estate has been in the hands of the Thienpont family since 1924, one of the most succesful families on the Right Bank owning Chateau Le Pin and Château Troplong Mondot. The estate is known for its combination of gravel, clay, and sand, creating a perfect balance that lends structure, power, and complexity to its wines. Vieux Chateau Certan is located in a prized location in Pomerol next door to La Conseillante, Petrus and La Fleur Petrus.

The flagship wine, Vieux Château Certan, is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon, known for its depth, complexity, and ageing potential.
