Idda is a joint project between Angelo Gaja and his daughter Gaia Gaja with the Sicilian winemaker Alberto Graci, launched in 2017 on the slopes of Mount Etna. The name means “she” in Sicilian dialect, a tribute to the volcano.
The estate focuses on Nerello Mascalese and Carricante, capturing the minerality and freshness of Etna’s volcanic soils. Despite being young, Idda has quickly gained international attention for its refined style, marking Gaja’s first venture outside Piedmont and Tuscany.
