Jancis Robinson MW

Jancis Robinson, MW, is one of the most respected and influential figures in the global wine industry. Born in 1950 in the United Kingdom, she began her career in wine in the 1970s, entering a field dominated by men. In 1984, she became the first person outside the wine trade to earn the prestigious Master of Wine (MW) qualification. Over the decades, she has authored numerous seminal books on wine, including The Oxford Companion to Wine, Wine Grapes, and The World Atlas of Wine (co-authored with Hugh Johnson).

Jancis champions diversity in wine and values authenticity, balance, and a sense of place. She has consistently highlighted the importance of sustainable viticulture and the preservation of indigenous grape varieties.
