More About The Producer

Château Latour's origins trace back to at least the 14th century, with the estate's distinctive tower ("La Tour") established as a fortified structure during the Hundred Years' War between England and France. By the 17th century, Latour had become one of Bordeaux’s most significant wine-producing estates. Chateau Latour is one of the only five producers with First Growth status. Situated in the Pauillac appellation, Château Latour enjoys a prime location on the Médoc Peninsula, close to the Gironde estuary. This proximity to water creates a moderating effect on the climate, protecting the vines from extremes of cold and heat and contributing to a long growing season, perfect for producing concentrated and balanced wines. Iconic vintages to keep an eye on are 1945, 1961, 1982, 1990, 2000, and 2009
