Jeb Dunnuck
Jeb Dunnuck, born on June 2, 1975, in Muncie, Indiana, is a celebrated American wine critic now based in Colorado. Dunnuck’s initial career path was in aerospace engineering, where he worked on notable projects like NASA's High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) and the Kepler mission. His passion for wine was sparked during a European trip in 1996, where he became captivated by the region’s rich wine culture. An avid outdoorsman, Dunnuck would spend weekends rock climbing, often stopping at a small, eclectic wine store along the way. It was here that he purchased his first bottles of wine, including memorable 1990 and 1996 Bordeaux. Despite a modest income at the time, he would set aside $20–$30 each week to explore different wines, igniting a lifelong obsession that eventually shaped his career.
In 2008, while working full-time at Ball Aerospace, Dunnuck founded The Rhône Report, a website dedicated to Rhône variety wines. Leveraging his web programming skills, he designed and launched the site over a single weekend, maintaining its database even to this day. His dedication was remarkable—working as an engineer by day and writing wine reviews from 8 PM to 2 AM nightly for five years. His diligence and keen insights into wine caught the attention of Robert Parker, who invited him to join The Wine Advocate in 2013.
In 2013, Dunnuck joined Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate as a full-time reviewer, focusing on wines from California, Washington, and Southern France. After four years, he returned to independent journalism, establishing JebDunnuck.com in 2017. Through this platform, Dunnuck offers comprehensive reviews and insights into top wine regions, including Bordeaux, Champagne, Italy, California, Oregon, and Washington. His annual "Top 100 Wines" list is highly anticipated within the wine community, reflecting his refined palate and deep appreciation for quality wines.
