More About The Producer

Established in 1976 by brothers Franco and Carlo Pontiglione, along with their brother-in-law Giuseppe Priola, Bel Colle winery is nestled in Verduno, a picturesque village in Italy's renowned Piedmont region. In 2015, the Bosio family, with a winemaking heritage spanning four generations, acquired the estate, infusing it with renewed passion and dedication. Today, under the guidance of Luca Bosio and Mario Albrito, Bel Colle continues to uphold its rich traditions while embracing modern viticulture practices.

The winery is celebrated for its exceptional Barolo wines, particularly those from the esteemed Monvigliero and Bussia vineyards. The Monvigliero vineyard, a natural amphitheater with southwest exposure, yields Barolos known for their finesse and aromatic complexity, featuring floral and spicy notes. Conversely, the Bussia vineyard in Monforte d'Alba produces Barolos of remarkable intensity and structure, reflecting the unique terroir of the region.

Bel Colle's commitment to quality is evident in its meticulous vineyard management and winemaking techniques. The estate spans 10 hectares across Verduno, the Langhe hills, and the Astigiano area, cultivating indigenous grape varieties that capture the essence of Piedmont. The winery's philosophy emphasizes producing wines that respect tradition while satisfying contemporary palates, a vision realized through the expertise of its winemaking team.
