Passopisciaro is a winery on the northern slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily, founded in 2000 by Andrea Franchetti. Recognizing the potential of Etna’s high-altitude, volcanic terroir, he restored old Nerello Mascalese vineyards and introduced a site-specific approach, vinifying grapes from different contrade (historic vineyard districts) separately.

The estate's key wines include Passorosso, a blend of Nerello Mascalese from multiple contrade, and single-contrada wines such as Rampante, Sciaranuova, and Guardiola, each highlighting different soil compositions and elevations. Passopisciaro also produces Franchetti, an unconventional blend of Petit Verdot and Cesanese d’Affile.

After Franchetti’s passing in 2021, the estate continues his vision, focusing on minimal intervention winemaking and expressing the distinct characteristics of Etna’s volcanic soils.
