More About The Producer

Pierre Paillard is a boutique Champagne grower based in the Montagne de Reims region, in the heart of the prestigious Champagne appellation. The estate's roots trace back to 1768, making it one of the oldest wine-growing families in the region. The Paillard family’s vineyards are situated in the Grand Cru village of Bouzy, which is located on the Montagne de Reims. Bouzy is particularly known for its high-quality Pinot Noir, and this variety forms the backbone of many of Pierre Paillard’s cuvees. However, the estate also cultivates a small percentage of Chardonnay, adding a degree of balance and finesse to the wines. For Pierre Paillard, the relationship with the terroir is paramount. The family believes that the true expression of Champagne comes from the careful management of its vineyards, and they prioritize organic farming practices, focusing on sustainability and preserving the long-term health of the land. Today, the estate spans around 10 hectares, which are farmed with great care to achieve low yields and high-quality fruit.Pierre Paillard produces a small but highly regarded range of Champagnes, with a focus on Pinot Noir-based blends. The Millesime cuvee is a vintage Champagne made from exceptional years, typically focusing on a balance of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Bouzy Grand Cru Brut Tradition; This is the house's flagship cuvee, a blend of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay. The wines represent great value and are worth exploring and comparing to more main stream growers such as Agrapart, Larmandier, Egly and Ulysse Collin.
