The 2019 Vosne-Romanée Village is very charming, bursting with aromas of plums, orange rind, mocha and spicy new oak. Medium-bodied, supple and velvety, with lively acids and melting tannins, this will offer a broad drinking window.

An agreeably fresh and spicy nose of purple fruit leads to vibrant and seductively textured medium weight flavors that possess a beguiling mouthfeel while offering fine length. This velvety effort is very Vosne in character and should drink well young yet repay mid-term keeping as I sense that more depth will soon develop with a few years of bottle age. Worth checking out.

The 2016 Vosne AC chez Liger-Belair is a very classic expression of the vintage, offering up a silky texture and lovely, perfume aromatics that will delight fans from very early on in its evolution. The bouquet jumps from the glass in a fine blend of black raspberries, black cherries, dark soil tones, Vosne spices, dark soil tones and cedary, spicy oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, ripe and focused, with a good core, modest tannins and a long, tangy finish. Good juice. (Drink between 2022-2045)
