Founded by Paul and Helen Croser in 1999, Prophet’s Rock is a boutique winery located in the renowned Central Otago region of New Zealand, a landscape famous for its cool climate and stunning scenery. The winery is noted for its small-scale, highly refined approach to winemaking, drawing inspiration from Burgundy to create wines that reflect a sense of place, or "terroir."Cuvee Aux Antipodes is the unique collaboration between winemaker Francois Millet from Comte George de Vogue in Chambolle-Musigny, and the team at Prophet's Rock. One small parcel of Pinot Noir made by one of Burgundy's most famous winemakers. This Pinot Noir comes from the same small, steep parcel at the western end of our Home Vineyard each year, high in the hills of the Bendigo sub-region, Central Otago. The vineyard sits on a high elevation (320 – 390m), steep glacial terrace high above the valley floor. The site features some of the oldest vineyard soils in the valley with the formation of the terrace occurring approximately 650K years ago.Prophet's Rock may not yet have the same level of recognition as renowned New Zealand Pinot Noir producers like Felton Road, Mt Difficulty, Ata Rangi, and Dry River, but we highly recommend exploring their wines. If you’re looking for a Pinot Noir that combines charm and elegance with structure and regional typicity, Prophet's Rock is a producer to watch. Their wines offer a unique expression of the Central Otago terroir, and they are certainly one to keep an eye on in the future.
