More About The Producer

Castello dei Rampolla is one of Tuscany’s most esteemed and historic wine estate. Located in the famed Conca d’Oro (Golden Basin) of Panzano in the heart of the Chianti Classico region. Castello dei Rampolla has been owned by the Di Napoli family since the early 18th century.

Its transformation into a prestigious wine estate began in 1965 when Alceo di Napoli decided to shift from being a producer of bulk wine to making estate-bottled wines. He was driven by a vision to produce world-class wines that reflected the estate’s unique terroir. The estate’s flagship Super Tuscan, Sammarco, made its debut in 1980. The wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese that has garned world-wide acclaim.

The estate transitioned to organic farming in 1994 and fully embraced biodynamic principles in 1996, making it one of the pioneers of this practice in Italy.
