More About The Producer

Tenuta di Trinoro, founded by Andrea Franchetti in the 1990s, is located in the remote Val d’Orcia region of Tuscany. Unlike many Tuscan estates, Franchetti planted Bordeaux varieties, including Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyards sit at 450-600 meters above sea level, benefiting from a long growing season.

Franchetti, known for his meticulous approach and experimental mindset, also developed Passopisciaro in Sicily, pioneering high-altitude Nerello Mascalese wines on Mount Etna. His influence on modern Italian winemaking remains significant, particularly for demonstrating the potential of Bordeaux varieties in Tuscany.
