More About The Producer

Torbreck Vintners, established in 1994 by winemaker David Powell, is a renowned winery located in the heart of South Australia’s Barossa Valley. Drawing inspiration from the traditional winemaking techniques of the region, Torbreck is known for its bold, expressive wines that showcase the power and richness of the Barossa’s terroir. The winery’s name is a tribute to the Torbreck Forest in Scotland, reflecting Powell’s deep connection to both his heritage and the land he cultivates.

Torbreck is particularly famous for its Shiraz, which is often regarded as some of the best in the Barossa. Iconic wines like the "RunRig" and "The Laird" are celebrated for their complexity, intensity, and ability to age beautifully, with rich fruit, balanced tannins, and layers of spice and oak. Under Powell’s expert guidance, the winery continues to craft wines that reflect the diversity of the Barossa Valley, using old-vine fruit and a combination of modern techniques and traditional methods. Torbreck remains a benchmark for premium Australian wine, with a reputation for excellence and a commitment to producing wines of exceptional character.
