Keller G-Max Riesling Trocken 2022

I had the pleasure this year to share a bit of the 2022 G-Max with my adult children during our tasting, who I had told about the wine previously, but who had never tasted it. My son’s girlfriend, who has an outstanding palate, simply commented “this is the best-balanced, smoothest white wine I have ever tasted in my life” and she was absolutely correct! The inherent elegance of the 2022 vintage is a perfect foil for the G-Max, as the wine offers up a magical bouquet of tart orange, pink grapefruit, a complex foundation of chalky minerality, wild yeasts, citrus blossoms and incipient smokiness as a gentle topnote. On the palate the wine is pure, precise, full-bodied and seamless, with a gorgeous core of fruit, brilliant transparency down to the limestone soil, bouncy acids and superb balance on the long, complex and vibrant finish. This is a simply flawless young wine. 2037-2085.
