Chateau Canon
Château Canon is a Premier Grand Cru Classé estate in Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux, with origins dating back to the 18th century. The estate was named after Jacques Kanon, a privateer who acquired the land in 1760. Since 1996, it has been owned by Chanel, which has invested in vineyard restoration and cellar modernization.
The vineyard is planted mainly with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, grown on limestone and clay soils. The flagship wine, Château Canon, is known for its elegance and aging potential, while the second wine, Croix Canon, offers a more approachable style.
Under the direction of Nicolas Audebert, the estate follows a traditional yet refined winemaking approach, including aging in French oak barrels. Château Canon remains a benchmark for Saint-Émilion wines, combining history with meticulous viticulture.
