Chateau Pontet Canet
Chateau Pontet Canet is one of Pauillac’s historic Bordeaux estates, classified as a Fifth Growth (Cinquième Cru) in the 1855 Bordeaux classification. Established in the 18th century, the estate is one of the few classified growths in Pauillac to use a horse-drawn plough in its vineyards, preserving soil structure and reducing compaction.
Pontet-Canet has extensive clay and gravel soils, which contribute to the depth, minerality, and structure of its wines.
Pontet-Canet wines are known for their power, elegance, freshness, and significant aging potential. They are often described as "Super Seconds" and have received perfect 100-point scores from critics like Robert Parker for vintages such as 2009 and 2010, placing them in the top tier of Bordeaux wines.
