More About The Producer

Jim Barry Wines, founded in 1959 has long been a pioneer in Australia’s Clare Valley, a region renowned for its cool climate and exceptional terroir, particularly for Riesling and Shiraz. The winery’s roots trace back to Jim Barry, an ambitious winemaker who, after moving from the Riverland, sought to make wines that reflected the unique character of the Clare Valley. What started as a small family operation has grown into one of Australia’s most respected wine estates. Jim Barry’s vision and dedication to quality quickly earned him a reputation as one of the valley’s leading winemakers.

The Jim Barry Armagh is one of Australia’s most iconic Shiraz and represents the pinnacle of Clare Valley wines alongside Wendouree and Grosset. The Jim Barry Armagh was one of the first Australia wines to be invited and distributed via the Place de Bordeaux in France. A platform and network that is only offered to the best wines in the world. The vineyard was first planted in 1968, the name "Armagh" is a reference to the vineyard’s location, which has been an integral part of the Barry family’s winemaking journey. The first vintage of Armagh Shiraz was released in 1990, and it has been a symbol of excellence ever since.
