Marchesi Antinori is one of the most prestigious and historically significant wine producers in all of Italy boasting a winemaking tradition that dates back over 600 years. The Antinori family trace it's roots in winemaking back to 1385. With over 26 generations of experience, the current head of the family is Marchese Piero Antinori who has led the company for decades. Now his daughters; Albiera, Allegra and Alessia play key roles in the company’s operations. While the Antinori family respects its long-standing traditions they are also known for innovation. In the 1970s, Antinori helped revolutionize the Italian wine industry by championing the "Super Tuscan" style. These are wines made from non-indigenous grape varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot and are often blended with sacred Sangiovese grape. One of their most famous wines is "Tignanello" (released in 1971) and continues to be one of the most collected wines in the world.
