Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW
Lisa Perrotti-Brown grew up in rural Maine, USA, and began her wine journey in London in the late 1990s, managing a wine bar and building her knowledge of the industry. In 2002, she moved to Tokyo, where she worked as a wine buyer and educator at the prestigious Academie du Vin. Her career took another leap in 2008 when she relocated to Singapore, began writing for Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, and achieved the prestigious Master of Wine accreditation. That same year, she was awarded the Madame Bollinger Medal for excellence in wine tasting. Recognized as one of the finest writers Robert Parker had encountered, Lisa was appointed Editor in Chief of the Wine Advocate in 2012, where she also served as a critic for Bordeaux, Napa Valley, Sonoma County, and Australian wines. In 2022, she co-founded The Wine Independent, an innovative platform dedicated to in-depth wine reviews and industry insights.
Renowned for her sharp palate and broad appreciation of wine styles, Lisa has a particular affinity for Bordeaux wines, which she consistently champions. Her love of Mourvèdre has also been a recurring theme in her career, where she has brought attention to lesser-known producers, such as Andremily, showcasing their exceptional craftsmanship. Through her work, Lisa continues to shape the wine world with her expertise, passion, and dedication to uncovering extraordinary bottles.
