More About The Producer

Yabby Lake was established in 1998 by the Kirby family, who recognized the Mornington Peninsula’s potential to produce premium cool-climate wines. The family’s vision was to create wines that rival the best from Burgundy and other prestigious regions. The winemaking team, led by Tom Carson (one of Australia’s most celebrated winemakers), has been instrumental in elevating the estate’s reputation. Carson joined Yabby Lake in 2008, bringing a wealth of experience and a commitment to crafting wines of exceptional balance and refinement. Yabby Lake became the first winery in the Mornington Peninsula to win the prestigious Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy in 2013 for its 2012 Block 1 Pinot Noir, a historic achievement for the region.
